Sushi kenzen hospitality fit out brisbane

Sushi Kenzen is a unique concept that returns takeaway sushi to it's original glory; simple, fresh ingredients made right before your eyes. The Kenzen team believe that through our decisions we can make a positive impact on our world. By using local and ethically sourced ingredients for its sushi the company allows you to make a positive decision every time you visit the store.

Sushi Kenzen is typified by a traditional Japanese aesthetic, which consists of a monochromatic palette, strong lines and the warmth of natural timbers. In approaching the interiors, whitewood brought the same consideration for making a positive impact by selecting materials and methods that have an inherent sustainable agenda. For instance, the timber was sourced through VicAsh – Australian Sustainable Hardwoods, and the shopfront cladding was installed over the existing finishes to minimise building materials going into landfill.

Entering the space users are drawn to the four-metre high angular framework structure that runs the length of the counter. This structure is as dramatic as it is simplistic, while also bringing in a functional need in the suspension of energy efficient LED spotlights to light the food. Nestled around the corner is the seating area complete with a concrete-look feature wall, which is then finished by a row of stunning 3D-printed pendant lights by local Brisbane-based designers at Mutating Creatures.

This was a unique opportunity for whitewood to be involved in the early development of the brand’s voice and message, as well as the interiors, All involved were on the same page about the need to offer a product that was healthy for the customer, healthy for the community and healthy for our environment. They are spreading the word that fast food can be good food.
