Archicad Documentation & Project Specialist (Part-Time)
Location: Byron Bay / Northern Rivers, NSW
Commitment: 3 days per week (with potential to increase over time)
ABOUT WHITEWOOD
Whitewood is a Byron Bay-based interior architecture and design studio working across residential, commercial, hospitality and workplace projects. We’re known for thoughtful, spatially intelligent design and exceptionally detailed documentation that translates design intent clearly and confidently on site.
Our work spans concept through to construction documentation and delivery, with a strong focus on buildability, materiality and calm, functional spaces.
THE ROLE
We’re looking for a highly experienced Archicad professional to join our studio in a senior, hands-on role. This position is ideal for someone who loves the technical craft of documentation, understands construction deeply, and enjoys working closely with builders and trades to deliver high-quality outcomes.
You’ll work directly with the Principal Designer, taking ownership of documentation and supporting smooth project delivery across multiple projects.
This role will start at 3 days per week, with the opportunity to increase hours as the studio continues to grow.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Lead Archicad construction documentation and modelling across residential and commercial interior projects.
-
Produce high-quality, build-ready drawing packages including plans, elevations, sections, joinery details and schedules.
-
Coordinate documentation to ensure clarity, accuracy and consistency across all stages.
-
Liaise with builders, consultants and trades to resolve technical issues.
-
Attend site visits and meetings as required (local projects).
-
Support project coordination during construction to ensure design intent is delivered.
-
Contribute to improving internal documentation standards, templates and workflows.
-
3D modelling and visualisation skills are highly desirable.
ABOUT YOU
EXPERIENCE
-
Minimum 7+ years experience in architectural or interior architectural practice.
-
Strong background in documentation and delivery, not just concept design.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
-
Advanced Archicad proficiency (essential).
-
Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials and detailing.
-
Confident producing and coordinating complex documentation packages.
-
Comfortable working autonomously and making technical decisions.
PERSONAL QUALITIES
-
Highly detail-oriented and methodical.
-
Calm, reliable and solutions-focused.
-
Strong communicator with builders and consultants.
-
Based in (or willing to relocate to) the Byron Bay / Northern Rivers area.
WHY JOIN WHITEWOOD
-
Senior, respected role with real autonomy and trust.
-
Opportunity to shape documentation quality and delivery standards.
-
Flexible, part-time structure with room to grow.
-
Work on considered, well-designed projects with a small, experienced team.
-
No big-studio politics, just good work, done properly.
