Bringing style and sustainability into the workplace, whitewood worked with the Engagement Group to create a space that expresses the company’s culture and ethos. The Engagement Group is an organisation comprised of three of New Zealand’s top companies in the FMCG space, bringing decades of experience under one roof.
Key to the project’s success was instilling a sense of openness, transparency and approachability. This was achieved through various devices, from timber slatting used to divide meeting spaces to a selection of pendant lights that bring permeability with its woven texture. Punching up the material palette is the use of bright and fresh colours, with turquoise feature walls breaking up the more natural tones and light greys. But it’s not all corporate, playful signage is a reminder that this company isn’t a classic.
Sustainability was carefully considered in multiple elements of the projects. All the task furniture was sourced from local GECA certified suppliers and the carpet tiles throughout are from Premium Floorings Green Tag Certified range, consisting of 100 per cent recyclable carpet on EcoFlex PVC free backing. In addition, the Engagement Group team have committed to managing their office waste through the integration of separate paper, organics, recycling and general bins. The paper and organics are now being used for an onsite worm farm to create rich food for the staffs home gardens.
