The driver behind the refurbishment of Skin Divinity was to bring the interior design in alignment with the beauty salon’s brand. The space was tired and not a true reflection of the service and quality that clients would receive, with the quality of the offering not matching the experience. From the moment of stepping through the turquoise French doors, Skin Divinity clients are transported to a space that feels refined and elevated, with a renewed focus on rejuvenation. The calm, neutral palette on entry allows guests to reset before they begin their journey deeper into the salon.
The fitout focuses on glamour and luxury, coming to life with a clean and minimal reception desk that appears in a curved organic form. Sinuous curves of the desk wrap the entry space, created in a polished venetian plaster finish which continues on the rear wall and shelving to create a luxurious entry and retail experience. The deliberate use of a single material creates an elevated sense of well being.
Adding layers of design intent to the space, other details point towards the concept of ‘Palm Springs Glamour’, as seen in the selectively soft yet vibrant colour palette, pot plants, artwork and gold signage. Furniture also follows this line of thinking with shapes and forms reminiscent of mid-century design. Moving into the treatment rooms, each room has been given a unique pastel colour way – pink, yellow or blue – furthering the idea of Palm Springs chic.
More than aesthetics, all of the treatment rooms underwent careful space planning and reorganising to ensure optimum usability for both the beauticians and the clients. Previously the treatment rooms didn’t function well, they were cluttered and the equipment was not easily accessible. This has been completely overhauled. Each of the rooms feature custom joinery, allowing space for all the elements to be hidden away.
The refreshed Skin Divinity offers a high end environment that now aligns with the boutique offering of the brand – all achieved on a tightly managed budget.
